Refund Policy
In effect from October 14, 2026. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
Assessing AI subscriptions are not refundable. Once a charge has gone through it stays with us, apart from the three narrow cases in section 4. Before you buy, the pricing page lists every limit of each plan, and you can stop future renewals yourself whenever you like.
1. How you pay for Assessing AI
Starter, Plus and the other plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly. The price buys your team access to the platform for one billing period, with the response, assessment and seat limits shown on the pricing page. It is not a charge per candidate, per test or per question. The whole period is unlocked on its first day, so the fee is the same whether you send one assessment that month or fifty.
2. Your request to start straight away
Paying for a plan is your request that we begin providing the service immediately. Where the law of your country would otherwise give you a right of withdrawal or a cooling-off period, you accept that this right ends once the service has started at your request.
3. Charges that stay final
We do not return money, in full or in part, for any of these reasons.
- Your hiring round, course or certification programme ended, was paused or was cancelled.
- No candidates or students took an assessment while the plan was active, or you used only a share of your monthly responses.
- You expected scores, pass rates or the quality of hires to turn out differently.
- You disagree with how an AI-generated question was worded, how difficult it was, or how an answer was graded.
- Your own question bank, imported files or candidate list contained mistakes.
- You picked a plan, a billing period or a number of collaborators you later found you did not need.
- A renewal was charged, including a renewal collected some days late after the card was declined at first.
- You thought the purchase was a one-time payment. Every plan renews, as the pricing page, checkout, receipt and your billing page all say.
- You forgot to cancel before the renewal date, or you cancelled shortly after it.
- The time left in a period after you cancel. Access continues to the end of that period, and nothing is pro-rated.
- A colleague or anyone else you gave your login to used the account.
- A feature you assumed existed but that the pricing page does not describe.
4. The three cases we do refund
Money is returned only when one of the following is true and our records confirm it, and never above the amount of the charge concerned.
- You were charged twice. A fault in our billing took payment two times for one period.
- Someone else paid with your card. The charge was made without your permission, you tell us no later than 14 days after it, and the account and transaction records support what you say. A statement alone does not settle it, and we may ask you to confirm that you reported the misuse to your card issuer.
- Assessing AI could not be used at all. A fault on our side made the platform completely unavailable for a continuous stretch, you reported it while it was happening, and we did not resolve it. Slow pages, a single broken feature, or trouble with your own devices, browser, network or files do not qualify.
In these cases the refund goes back to the card that paid, is capped at what you paid for the affected period, and is the whole of our liability for it. Receiving one refund gives no right to another.
5. Asking for a refund
Email [email protected] from the address on your account within 14 days of the charge. Tell us the date and amount and which of the three cases in section 4 you are relying on. Requests made later or by any other channel are not considered. We work through requests in the order they arrive, without a guaranteed reply time, and a declined request is not reopened.
If you go to your bank for a chargeback without writing to us first, you breach the Terms of Service and we close the account for good.
6. Cancelling and renewals
A subscription renews on its own until it is cancelled. You cancel on the Subscription page of your account, without having to contact us. From that moment no further renewals are charged, and your team keeps using Assessing AI until the paid period runs out. Cancelling does not count as a refund request.
Each new period becomes payable the moment it begins, and access for it is granted at the same moment. If the card is declined, the invoice stays open and the charge is attempted again over the next few days. These attempts belong to the same invoice and are not extra charges. Cancelling while an invoice is open stops the renewals after it, not the open invoice, and that renewal is not refundable. To avoid a renewal, cancel before the date shown on your Subscription page.
7. Records we rely on
When you sign up you accept the Terms of Service, which contain this policy, and our Privacy Policy. Checkout shows the plan, price, billing period and automatic renewal before anything is charged, and the receipt and your Subscription page show them again.
For every subscription we keep the purchase time, the plan and price you saw, your acceptance of the terms, the emails we sent, and an activity log of the account: sign-ins, assessments created and sent, responses collected and AI questions generated, with the technical details logged next to each event. The payment processor keeps its own record of each charge, including the country the card was issued in, where the payment came from and the result of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. We use these records to decide claims of unauthorised charges, and we hand them to the card issuer if a chargeback is opened.
8. Purchases before October 14, 2026
A subscription first bought before October 14, 2026 keeps the refund terms that applied on the day it was bought.
