Short answer: Xobin's pricing page lists Skill Assessments as "Starts at $699" in US dollars and puts every other module (psychometric tests, AI interviews, CV parsing, its ATS and the lockdown browser) behind "Request Pricing". The FAQ on the same page still quotes an Essential plan at $249 a month with 100 concurrent test takers, a Standard plan for 200, and $129 a year for each extra admin. There is a 14-day trial with no card, the shortest subscription is one month, and every plan is paid upfront.
We read Xobin's pricing page and help center in October 2026 and lined them up against the third-party listings, which disagree with each other and in one case with Xobin itself. Below is every public figure, how much weight it deserves, and what a year costs for a small recruiting team. If you are comparing several vendors at once, our pre-employment assessment software pricing table puts eleven of them side by side on cost per candidate.

Xobin pricing at a glance
| Figure | Source | What it covers | How far to trust it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starts at $699 | xobin.com/pricing | Skill Assessments module, North America; billing period not shown on the card | High for the floor, unclear on period |
| $249 a month | FAQ on xobin.com/pricing | Essential plan for startups, 100 concurrent test takers | Medium, the FAQ may lag behind the cards |
| $129 a year per admin | FAQ on xobin.com/pricing | Each admin over the plan quota | High |
| Request Pricing | xobin.com/pricing | Cognitive and psychometric, AI interviews, CV parsing, ATS, lockdown browser | High, there is no public number |
| $249 and $499 a month | Techimply | Essential and Standard plans | Medium, matches the vendor FAQ on Essential |
| $599 and $1,999 a year | Capterra | Starter pay as you use, Enterprise usage based | Low, does not match the vendor page |
| $129 and $529 a month | SaaSworthy | Discovery and Optimal tiers | Very low, data from 2019 |
G2 shows no pricing at all for Xobin. Treat the $699 card and the $249 FAQ figure as the two numbers worth bringing to a sales call.
How much does Xobin cost?
Xobin costs from $249 a month on the Essential plan quoted in its FAQ, and its current pricing cards start the Skill Assessments module at $699. The cards do not say whether $699 is monthly or per term, so ask on the demo. Psychometric tests, AI interviews and the lockdown browser are quoted separately, so a full stack costs more than either figure.
The page shows prices converted by region, so the same base appears in euros, pounds or rupees depending on the region you pick. For US buyers the USD figure is the one to use. Payment is upfront by corporate card for every plan, according to the FAQ, and recurring subscriptions are billed in USD or INR.
Here is a rough first-year budget for a team of three recruiters. These are our estimates built from the FAQ and the Techimply listing, not a quote.
| Setup | Year one estimate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Essential, 12 months | $2,988 | $249 x 12, 100 concurrent test takers |
| Standard, 12 months | $5,988 | $499 x 12 (listing figure), 200 concurrent test takers |
| Standard plus two extra admins | $6,246 | Adds 2 x $129 a year, if your plan's admin quota is lower than your team |
| Skill Assessments card, if $699 is monthly | $8,388 | Before any psychometric or AI interview module |
Does Xobin have a free plan?
No, Xobin does not have a free plan. Its FAQ says so directly and points startups to the Essential plan at $249 a month instead. What it does offer is a 14-day trial with full access to the features of the plan you pick, and no credit card is needed to start it. After the trial you subscribe from the billing page inside the platform.
Does Xobin charge per candidate?
It depends on which Xobin page you read. The pricing FAQ says Xobin sells subscriptions only, with no pay-as-you-go plan, and that you can test as many applicants as you like during the subscription. Xobin's help center describes a pay-per-candidate option for small and seasonal hiring, with invites bought upfront, top-ups in blocks as small as 200 credits and credits that do not expire.
The practical reading: the subscription is the default and the per-invite option exists for buyers who ask. If you only hire a few times a year, ask the rep for the per-invite price and the minimum commitment in writing, because neither is published.
Unlimited test takers also comes with a cap that matters in practice. Essential allows 100 people taking a test at the same time and Standard 200. If you send one link to 150 applicants on a Monday morning, most will spread out over a day or two and you will never hit 100 at once. If you run a timed group session for a campus class or a call center intake, plan the slots so you stay under the limit.
Is Xobin worth it for a small business?
Xobin is worth it for a small business that hires developers. Its strengths are real: coding assessments in more than 40 languages, real-time proctoring, a lockdown browser, more than 300 prebuilt job tests and a library covering 500+ skills that is updated quarterly, with no setup or support fees and native links to a few ATS and HR systems plus Zapier and an API.
It is a harder sell when you hire sales reps, support agents, office staff or warehouse leads a few times a year. A $249 to $699 entry point is paid upfront, cancellation takes effect with no pro-rata refund, and if you unsubscribe you lose access to your tests and candidate data until you resubscribe, so export scores first. For those roles, a cheaper tool with custom job questions and a recorded answer is usually enough. Our skills assessment software for small business page walks through that setup.
Cheaper Xobin alternatives with monthly pricing
Prices below come from each vendor's pricing page in October 2026, except where marked.
| Tool | Starting price | Billing | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xobin | From $249 a month (FAQ) or $699 (Skill Assessments card) | Monthly to annual, paid upfront | Coding tests, proctoring, lockdown browser |
| TestGorilla | Core from $215 a month billed annually | Annual for paid tiers | Large library of prebuilt skills and personality tests |
| Testlify | Standard $1,668 a year with 100 credits | Annual | Prebuilt tests at low volume |
| TestDome | $100 for 5 candidates, down to $7 each in a 600 pack | Prepaid candidate packs | Short technical screens at low volume |
| Assessing AI | $49 a month (Starter) | Monthly or yearly, no contract | Custom job tests with recorded answers for non-engineering roles |
If TestGorilla is on your list too, our TestGorilla pricing breakdown shows what the annual plans cost per candidate, and the TestGorilla alternative page compares the two approaches. For credit-based tools, the Testlify alternative page explains how credits run out mid-round, and the TestDome alternative page does the same math for per-candidate packs. Buyers who are also weighing iMocha can read our iMocha pricing and cost per candidate estimate.
Where Assessing AI fits
Assessing AI is a flat-priced test tool for employers who want a job-specific screen without an upfront term. You describe the role, write or generate the questions (AI drafting from a job description is on Plus at $149 a month), and send one link. Multiple choice answers score themselves on submit; your team scores written and audio or video recorded answers in the results view. Starter at $49 a month covers 15 new assessments and 500 responses a month with three seats, time limits, branding, CSV export, personal invite links, copy and paste blocking, pass certificates, and optional webcam monitoring that takes still photos at the start and every three minutes with the applicant's consent.
The honest limits next to Xobin: no code execution, no lockdown browser, no video proctoring (webcam takes still photos only), no validated psychometric library and no native ATS connector, though Pro at $499 a month includes a REST API and completion webhooks. Once a candidate passes and you move to an offer, expect a sharper conversation than a few years ago, since many applicants now prepare with a salary negotiation coach before they reply.
If your next hiring round is sales, support or operations rather than engineering, start on Starter for $49 a month and cancel between rounds.
